Bad girls

when i was growing up there were a group of girls in a neighboring congregation who hit their teen years with a vengeance.

they wore a lot of makeup, acted "worldly", and got in a fair share of trouble (a lot of back room discussions at the hall).

they were true rebels (with a cause, i believe now, looking back).

As for the other part of the "bad girl" deal... this is what it is....

Its just like when people leave, it seems they either become athiest or they do some other cult-like religion. Its a hard swing.

So again with sex... we were all so repressed, that i think all of a sudden we have to make up for 20years worth of expierence as quick as possible. So we find ourselves going thru "exparimental" phases, "permiscuious" phases.. and beyond... in such a quick fashion in an urge to stock up on lost time, that it likely gets in the extreme measures of that rhelm as well.

Did i do a good enough job not saying anything while saying something??

So when i started studying... i was a sophomore in HS. I went in WAY off the deep end, carrying reasoning books, live forever books etc into school with me every day. I was trying to make friends "in the truth" but all the girls had grown up together and were MEAN to me.

Of course, they all ended up "falling out of the truth" and i stayed in. All these years i thought ... HAHAHAAA. now i think they must be laughing at me. At least they've lived the last 20 years!!!! DAMMIT!

Why must they be so mean to the children?

i havn't posted in quite a while.. i thought we could move on.. .but my 8 year old is the most incredbly hurt brokenhearted girl by having her life-long friend ripped away by us leaving the organization.

i tried to leave quietly, we're not dfed or anything... but her mother, my former best friend will not let the girls talk.. write.. contact ... period.

my daughter is still crying all the time.

Thank you all for you support... I just got my daughter started in girl scouts, i'm putting alot of faith in it! So hard to get kids at school to play now-a-days.... moms are like "oh, yes, my daughter has known your daughter for 3 years at this school, yes, we'd love to play, how about March? we have free time then for a playdate?" What is up with this "playdate" crap?? and who the hell waits till MARCH to play? when WE were kids, we came over almost ever day.. played till it was dark, then went home... what the hell? why is it so formal and why do you have to be penciled into an 8year olds calendar????? GEESH!

Prove the Truth to yourself.

a sister from my "congregation" has a bible study, and this study had compiled a boatload of questions about russell, the wt history, and incongruencies etc.

and the sister told her that she refuses to answer the questions and that they are apostate teachings.

she told the study that "it isn't up to me to prove the truth to you, you need to prove the truth to yourself".. as another poster put up the topic of "doesn't it blow your mind?

I would like to say that...

"it isn't up to me to prove the Truth to you, YOU need to prove the Truth to yourself".

I have heard that many times, its a popular come-back for many many questions. Again, a great way to dodge looking at ANY info someone might have.

because they have the all-knowing perfect catch-all answer.... ."its apostate!!!!!!!"" OH MY GOD!! HOW EVIL??!!!!!!

My mother asked me recently "why do you have to have apostate materials, if you want to leave just leave!! dont read that stuff!!"

I said... "do you even know what "apostate" means? what do you think is in the books? they're just people like me, who learned their whole life is a lie and tried to make their way thru it... THATS what you're defining as "apostate" ". The topic was then dropped.

What love ... "AMONG THEMSELVES". GOD FORBID you fall to the wayside... then be eaten by wolves!! I cant believe they could be so crule to my daughter as not to even allow her a "good-bye"... i just see this shaping her as a person.,.. its been about 8 months since she's seen her friend, and she still is crying... she made me listen to this song, and we both cried to it.... miss you song

I cant even listen to it. I had her in therapy in school, and the councelor said "shes fine" now.

I hate them more and more for being so mean and hateful to children.

Apostasy from JWs? That's not what the Bible says...hmmmm

i have been called an apostate in the past week by my sil, my stepdad, and my soon to be ex-wife.

it didn't help that apostasy was featured in this past weeks wt study, a point my ex was quick to remind me.... .

i have done a quick search in the wt cd rom to see how many times the word apostate or derivatives appear (i searched "aposta*").. .

When i talked to the brothers about this date.. which is graphically gone into in "captives of a concept" the elders were spitting out the WRONG dates... and THEY DIDN"T EVEN KNOW!

AHHHAAAAA. Thats how much they screw with it.. so much they cant keep it straight~!

Thanks so much for the update! I swear you guys and us started roughly the same time on this site... its amazing to see how far we've come!

What i'm impressed by is that you've found a new life and new friends. I'm so happy for you for that. Thats where i'm having the harest time. My husband has his old co-workers he's buddied with more.. i'm SOOOO mourning the loss of my "sisters". I realize like you said... after a lifetime, there's only one or 2 that ever called, and even they stop calling QUICK! They all get really scared even though technically i'm in good standing. I miss them SOOO much. My daughter of 8 is having such a hard time with the transition we have her in therapy.

I wish you the best, i'm so happy that you've been able to continue your search in the bible. Since leaving, my husband is not Athiest, and i'm not gonna go that far. I believe in god, and i believe like you said that Christ was more important than we allowed for.
